Finding a reliable Babysitter

Finding a reliable Babysitter

If Mummy needed to find someone to look after me it could be tricky for her to find the right person. How would she go about finding a reliable babysitter? Word of mouth can be great, but for many reasons it may not be possible to rely on this. So where can she look?

Finding a reliable Babysitter

How about a company founded in 1999 by a husband and wife who are also parents so understand what to look for in a babysitter. A company with a website where you can book a babysitter online 24/7?

Who are they?

A babysitter agency called Sitters, which offers babysitters all over the UK for an hourly fee.

Why use Sitters?

The babysitters are childcare professionals who are vetted with references thoroughly checked.

You can find a babysitter with Sitters at very short notice.

Sitters offers short term child care for daytime and evenings – 365 days a year.

You can book a babysitter whilst at home, or or on holiday virtually anywhere in the UK – including hotels, holiday accommodation, caravans, boats and more!

Sitters encourages parents to leave an honest review after each booking, to make sure their high standards are met.

How much does it cost?

You pay a monthly subscription fee to Sitters of just over £1 a week, then a fee per booking. This is on top of the hourly rate you pay to the sitter. You can check the hourly rate of sitters in your area by popping your post code into the site. You pay nothing until your first booking is complete. As an example, sitters in our home area of Pembrokeshire are £7.20 per hour.

Mummy would definitely use Sitters, and thinks it is a brilliant way to book a sitter if we are holidaying in the UK. To find quality, reliable, affordable babysitters with just a couple of clicks is such a great service for parents and perfect for finding a reliable babysitter.

You may be interested in applying to be a babysitter with Sitters yourself – if you are an experienced Childminder, Nanny or Nursery Nurse with professional childcare experience you could become a Sitters approved childcarer. Full details are on the website.

Have you ever used a babysitter agency for finding a reliable Babysitter?

  3. What a great idea! I know quite few people who live far from their families!

  4. I’ve never had a babysitter for my kids, not because I never trusted one, more because one, we never went anywhere without them (I know!), and two, we had friends and family! However, if I was in need of a babysitter, I would much prefer to do it this way, through a reputable agency like this.

  20. I have heard of sitters 🙂 I’m a nanny and understand where you are coming from. Even as a nanny I know I would look at agencies to find a babysitter when I become a parent. Because they would vet everyone for you, references, qualifications, DBS check, first aid!
