The Royal Garden Hotel Part 1

We had a brilliant drive into London, with no hiccups or mistakes. We did drive down the private road to Kensington Palace to find armed security guys, but they were lovely and guided us to the hotel car park!

We arrived at the hotel on Wednesday morning, to find that, disaster, our car wouldn’t fit under the hight barrier in the car park! Mummy very nearly had a meltdown, as she had to pull out and across the traffic of Kensington High Street, there is only very limited unloading car spaces outside the hotel.

Driving back in front of the hotel, she pulled into the Taxi spaces, and was beeped at by a Taxi, before the lovely concierge man moved some cones, parked our car and helped us.

He unloaded the car, with another nice man, and told us we could park the car in another car park that the hotel had. He even drove the car and parked it for Mummy! Mummy wanted to hug him!

Inside, we met a lovely lady called Charli, who showed us to our suite, and gave me a backpack. She was so friendly and explained where everything was. She also told us the best way to walk to the Natural History Museum, which we wanted to visit.

Now to the hotel itself. I am going to write two blog posts because there is too much to squeeze into one. This post is about our suite – yes suite – that we stayed in. We stayed in a Park Suite, 347, overlooking Kensington Gardens. The views are stunning.

That is Kensington Palace you can see!

When we walked into the suite, we couldn’t believe how big it was! There was a hallway, with a little bathroom to the right as you went in, and two doorways on either side into two big rooms. It was stunning, tiled floor, bright lights, mirror and hall table.

We had to stop ourselves from screaming out – I did run around everywhere! And Mummy had a huge grin on her face! I could see she was trying not to shriek out with joy whilst the lovely Charli told her about the suite and where everything was. Mummy, Lea and Luke waited until Charli left, then we literally jumped up and down, and ran around (well, maybe Mummy didn’t!)

The room to the left had a HUUUUUUUUGE bed! The biggest I have ever seen. And the comfiest. There were mirrors everywhere, floor to ceiling, which made the room so light and even bigger. I climbed up a couple of steps to a little sitting area with a sofa, a table, a desk and big windows looking over the gardens.

A door from this bedroom goes into a gorgeous big bathroom. Luke ran out with a soft fluffy bathrobe, wanting to have a shower there and then! The bathroom was stunning, tiled, gleaming clean, big mirrors, big bathtub, big shower with a rainforest head – (this means it is big, powerful, and you can adjust how strong the flow is).

The toiletries were great plus a little sewing kit, hair bobble and shower cap, and cotton wool pads. The towels were bright white, big, soft and fluffy.

Across the hall, was the other room, with a dining table and chairs, and again a couple of steps up to another sitting area. There was a spare bed made up here, and also a bed settee, which the lovely staff made up for us in the evening at ‘Turn Down’ time.

There was a mini bar fridge (payable), tea, coffee and hot chocolate with some yummy biscuits inside a little cupboard.

The suite was FANTASTIC. We have never stayed anywhere like it. There was nothing to fault.
