Mummy says…. I cannot believe that my youngest daughter Lea is 18 this Sunday. 18! My eldest child, MiMi is 21, and I am kind of used to her being older, but I can’t get my head around Lea turning 18 – I am not sure why…
Her birthday has always got a little caught up in our Christmas preparations and celebrations, being exactly two weeks before Christmas Eve, so this year we are having a long weekend of celebrations!
I want to let Lea know what an absolute joy of a daughter she is. She is my best friend as well as my daughter, she is a wise old soul and has way more insight than I will ever have!
I am so super proud with how her college course is going – she is in year two of Music Technology and has just launched her music career as a singer / songwriter. We have visited London to see the Uni she will be going to next September.
This will be a huge step for both of us, as we are rarely apart, but I know she will smash it, she has such a bright future ahead of her, it is so exciting to watch her grow and develop.
Lea has helped me raise Pickle from birth – being with me on our first night home, helping to feed him, and they have such a very special bond which is just beautiful. She is an awesome sister and a second mum to him. As she has got older she looks after him and her younger brother Luke (well he is 15!) for me to fulfil my dreams by attending blogging events, meet ups and see my friends. I would not have a career or a life without her. She is always at the end of the phone to encourage and support her big sis MiMi, and is always there to listen.
I literally well up with tears of love and joy whenever I think about her and how she is blossoming. She is overcoming crippling anxiety which first attacked her earlier this year, and together we are taking one day at a time as she slowly moves forward. Another reason why watching her first ever public gig two weeks ago was an incredible moment. Watching her push herself out of her comfort zone to sing on stage with her band. What a moment.
I am now looking forward to her first solo gigs in the New Year, and so excited to see what 2018 will bring her.
Happy 18th Birthday my angel Lea. You are truly loved more than you will ever know x x x
