Christmas Gift Ideas for Friends

Mummy has been so busy recently that it took her a while to realise that it’s nearly December! With so many friends and family to buy presents for and so little free time, she has been thinking hard and looking on her computer for gift ideas.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Friends

At first, Mummy was looking  at lots of different shops. She had written a huge list of people that she needed to buy presents for but was getting a bit frustrated that it seemed too difficult to choose something special for everybody. She also thinks it doesn’t make sense to spend a fortune on posting parcels, especially since so many friends and family live quite far away.

Many people worry that they are going to buy the wrong present for someone. Considering that most of us are too polite to ask to exchange it, we know it may end up a complete waste of money. The phrase it’s the thought that counts does not ring entirely true, otherwise we wouldn’t be spending so much time planning presents!

In fact, 2 out of 3 Brits receive presents they don’t want, according to the Telegraph. A great idea is to get gift vouchers for everyone because at least then friends and family can choose exactly what they would like or something they need. Most high-street shops offer vouchers and people like to shop for themselves after Christmas, especially when the sales are on.

Choosing the right voucher for the right person is important because you need to be sure that person will like what’s on offer at that store.

Mummy decided that she would give most of her friends Debenhams vouchers because there seems to be something for everyone there – maybe some pampering bath products, perfume, jewellery, clothes, kitchen accessories or a nice new candle set for the living room. If you’re buying vouchers for a lot of people, it’s much easier – and often costs less – to order gift vouchers online and post them to friends and family. That way they can enjoy the shopping experience and you’ll be certain they will get something they truly want.

It’s not long until Christmas now so you better start planning your gifts if you haven’t already started. The Christmas post and bad weather can sometimes delay delivery, so it’s much better to be as organised as you can and start as possible. Thinking of gift ideas can sometimes prove tricky but there is always interesting advice for Christmas presents online if you get stuck.

If you have friends and family asking what you want for Christmas and you’re finding it difficult to think of ideas for yourself, then you could make a list of items that you like or need. If you’re feeling under pressure to make a list though, then why not ask for gift vouchers for your favourite shops? At least then you can buy exactly what you would like, and take your time with it!

Do you like searching for Christmas gift ideas for friends, or do you give Gift Vouchers?

  1. A lot of our friends and family agree with us not to buy anything for each other. Saves a lot of time and hassle, and saves money also!

  2. I’ve purchased nip and fab products for all my girly friends.. All of them have made comments about these products and also recommended them to me. At least this way I know it will be a gift they will use.

  8. I love buying gifts for everyone, I put a real effort in and a lot of thought. I’ll get something that matches that person’s personality and what they like, etc. sometimes it’s novelty so it’s something they can appreciate and not be like “oh, this is nothing like what I want” because it has some relevance to them in some way 🙂
