We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure

We recently went to France on holiday for the first time, and Mummy drove! We were so lucky to have been loaned a gorgeous brand new car for our holiday, now we want to share our review with you and why we love the Peugeot 3008 Allure.

We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure

The car we had was the Peugeot 3008 Allure PureTech 130. We will share more technical details with you later on, but lets get to the car itself.

Oh my goodness, it was stunning! Ours was Bianca White with Black Claudia leather trim seats. It is called a Crossover because it has the best bits of a SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), a hatchback and an MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) in one beautiful car.

We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 2 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 3 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 4 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 5 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 6 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 7 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 8 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 9 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 10 We love the Peugeot 3008 Allure 11

The Peugeot 3008 Allure is higher than our car (and that is an MPV which is quite high up anyway), and it meant we could see so much more than we usually can. It had five seats, with Isofix fittings for two baby / child seats, and a rear central pull down part with cup holders in. Very handy for Luke and I who were travelling in the back. Luke could also reach through to the boot this way too.

There were so many funky storage compartments – two under the floor in front of the back seats – handy for storing any phones or tablets out of sight when we stopped, in the doors, in the boot and a huge glove box too. And two nets behind the front seats.

The funkiest one though, was between the front seats – it held a two litre bottle of drink, plus a couple of smaller bottles – and it was ventilated which meant it kept the drinks cold! How cool (literally) is that? We used it every time.

For the Mummy the driver, there was full, easy to read, perfectly positioned displays for everything. The best gadget was the Heads Up Display, which automatically pops up right in front of Mummy, showing her the speed, and when using the built in Sat Nav, it showed her the next turn / direction she had to take. Only Mummy (the driver) can see the display, it meant she didn’t have to take her eyes off the road in front of her!

The Peugeot 3008 Allure had a Sat Nav with a colour screen in the middle of the dashboard, which popped up automatically too, and when Mummy put the car into reverse it switched to a rear view camera screen, showing the space behind the rear bumper of the car for easy reversing and parking. There were sensors around the outside of the car too which beeped and showed Mummy on the screen a green bar, or two (you are close), an orange bar (you are closer) and a red bar (Woah, you are super close!) even then there was still room, so if you followed this system you know you won’t be able to bump the car! It was a little annoying as it was super sensitive and beeped even when there was plenty of room – but that is better than risking a bump!

The first time Mummy parked it in a car park between cars was hilarious. A few people around us had a little giggle too! Poor Mummy!

The car had a button for a handbrake, which had a fab auto hold feature, giving a second or two when stopped on a hill to move forward, without rolling backwards, and it popped on automatically when Mummy stopped, parked and turned off the engine.

There were cool LED lights that stayed on all the time the ignition was tuned on for safety, and the main lights automatically turned on in tunnels, Multi Storey (or under cover) car parks and when the light was poor, or dusk / night time.

The windscreen wipers could be set to automatically detect rain and turn on, as well as working out which speed to wipe! Amazing!

The engine had an Eco setting so it turned off when waiting in a queue, saving fuel and emissions. The stereo had a fantastic sound, and big bro and sis could plug their phones into a nifty little USB lead tucked into the centre console storage box to play music through the stereo.

One other super cool feature was the panoramic glass roof with electric blind. It filled the car with light, and you just licked a button to pop the blind across.

We have a video review to show you too:

The only thing this car didn’t have that would have made it 100% perfect was a cappuccino maker for Mummy and an ice cream maker for us 😉

The cost of this beauty is £22,585.00 I am checking my piggy bank as we speak, I was very sad when we had to give it back!

The PEUGEOT 3008 has won numerous awards, in the UK it was What Car? ‘Car of the Year’ 2010, What Car? ‘Best Crossover’ 2010 & 2011, DieselCar ‘Best Crossover’ & Daily Star ‘Family Car of the Year’ and 3008 HYbrid4 was What Car? In the event of getting too close to the car in front you are alerted visually via the head up display, allowing action to be taken.
