Top Toddler Friendly Places in Pembrokeshire

As you probably already know, I am lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the country – Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Many, many tourists visit here every year, and there is lots to do and see. Easter is a very busy time, with beautiful weather promised for this weekend there are so many places to visit especially for families with toddlers….

Tenby is the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Pembrokeshire, and is very, very pretty. The three main beaches are stunning, and well worth a visit to walk along or make sandcastles. Tenby is roughly a two hour drive from Cardiff. There are some great shops, lovely coffee shops and restaurants. There is nothing indoors for families if it is raining though, but on a dry day, it is lovely to walk around. There is the Lifeboat Station that you can look around, and The Tudor Merchants House, a replica house which belongs to the National Trust.

Pembroke is a lovely little town with an amazing castle which is so well maintained. There are so many events all year round, including, at Easter, Knight School, where you can train to be a knight (ooooh like Mike the Knight!) and Dragon Days, where you can meet baby dragons, wow!! Full details are here
There is a lovely millpond to walk around and feed the swans, and some lovely coffee shops too. (Very important for Mummy!) The castle has a cafe too.

My favourite, and number 1 of Trip Advisor’s Pembrokeshire Attractions is Folly Farm & Zoo. Read about my last visit here and we are visiting again next week. It is simply fantastic! Everything you need for a great day out. Mummy’s top tip is to use your Tesco Clubcard Vouchers to pay for entry. There are so many animals, an old time fairground, loads of great play areas, cafés and more.  They have the only giraffes and lions in Wales! And they are fantastic.
Other places worth visiting are….
Colby Woodland Garden in Amroth, on the coast, between St Clears and Tenby. You can park there, and go around the grounds – it is a National Trust place, you can’t go around the house, but there are lovely gardens and a meadow, and great woods. You can walk down to Amroth, it is pushchair friendly (the meadow and woods aren’t really) but you walk through part of the woods into Amroth, there is a handful of cafés and shops, but it is right on the seafront, and really beautiful. There are lots of exciting events at Colby over Easter, including an Easter Egg Trail.
Blue Lagoon – our very own water park with a pool, flumes and lazy river. There is a special area for us babies too. Full details are here
This is just a small selection of Top Toddler Friendly Places in Pembrokeshire, we hope you come and visit very soon!
