But Now I am Six

Mummy says… So, Pickle is 6. At long last, after he has been waiting for what seems like forever to him, he is 6. I remember him asking me weeks ago how many sleeps until he was 6 and it was something like 45. Now it is here….

The first words he said to me this morning, before we woke properly, before we turned the light on, was ‘Am I actually 6 right now?’ I smiled and replied, ‘Yes, you are 6 right now!’ He then shrieked with excitement!

It was just Pickle and I – big bro was out on a sleepover, and we had a lovely morning before school. We opened his cards and presents, the BIG one being a huge LEGO Jurassic World set, and had birthday cake for breakfast. The weather was wild, wet and windy.

Pickle has a huge I am 6 badge and a number 6 balloon. Granny Jane made the most amazing Jurassic World cake for Pickle’s party, Pickle is obsessed with dinosaurs at the moment.

We had a party booked with a best friend at Heatherton, but unfortunately due to the storms, they had a power cut and the party couldn’t go ahead. We all met there and had some sandwiches anyway, Pickle and J had their presents and we shared the cake so all was not lost. The best thing is that we have rescheduled the whole party for next Friday!

We all went for a fantastic family meal this evening, including my new partner J and his youngest daughter, and Lea and her boyfriend came home from Uni for Pickle’s birthday. It was SO good to see her.

I am so excited to see what the next year will bring for Pickle, I am so very proud of him and who he is.

He has had the BEST 6th Birthday, we will remember it always.
