Oblumi Tapp Phone Thermometer

I don’t really get poorly too often, but when I do, I tend to suffer with a high temperature. Mummy has various thermometers for me – but was very excited to be asked to try a phone thermometer from Oblumi Tapp.

Phone Thermometer

It is an incredibly clever little piece of kit – it comes with full instructions and cleaning wipes in its own protective carry case. You can see from the photos the size of it.

Phone Thermometer

You can use it with the Apple iPhone 4 or later (requires iOS 7 or later), or Android 4.2 phones or more recent ones.

You can take the temperature in the ear canal or on the forehead – great for when I am feeling really poorly and do not want Mummy messing around in my ears!

Phone Thermometer

You download the Oblumi Tapp app, and follow the simple instructions to get it set up. Connect the Oblumi Tapp to your phone with the headphone / audio jack when the app prompts you to. You can add the name of the poorly person – i.e. Pickle, my age and weight (Mummy did not know this off hand when we were reviewing this – that is why it says 0.00kg I am not really 0.00kg!)

The app stores the thermometer readings so you can see what is happening. If you have ever had a poorly Pickle where you have had to regularly monitor the temperature, and remember what it was and when you last took it, you will appreciate what a fab tool this is.

Full instructions are provided, but Mummy found it so easy to use anyway. We haven’t used another forehead thermometer, but we are very impressed with this one. It isn’t just the product itself, it is the app and features which make it so good.

The app also tells you when the batteries need changing, and you can set an alarm to remind you when to take the temperature again.

NB – Never use the Oblumi Tapp phone thermometer whilst the phone is charging. It is not suitable for taking a baby’s temperature in their first 120 days. This is not a substitute for a doctor, it is a support tool.

More information can be found on the Oblumi website, and you can buy it there too for around €42

What do you think of this?

We were sent this product in exchange for an honest review. All words and photos are ours.

  2. I always have a thermometer in our house as Joe used to suffer high temps due to tonsils. I think this is brilliant

  5. Looks a good idea will check it out xxx

  6. Oh my gosh – what on earth will they be able to invent next? I can’t believe that they’ve managed to get a thermometer which works as an app – how cool is that?! I love the idea of being able to store the readings too. There’s so many times where I’ve had to write them down as I can never remember what the previous few readings were.

  7. This is really cool – Toby used to get the highest of temperatures 🙁
