Our first visit to Cornwall

We are travelling tomorrow on our first visit to Cornwall. Our schools have an inset day, which means that we have an extra day, yay! We are going for a long weekend and are very excited as none of us have ever been to Cornwall. This is our weekly travel post – normally Travel Tuesday, but this week it is Travel Thursday!

Our first visit to Cornwall (2)

We are staying in Tencreek Holiday Park near Looe on the south coast, and hope to wander into Looe after we arrive. There is a lot to do at the caravan site too, including an indoor swimming pool and family entertainment onsite every night.

Mummy has been having a little look at what we can do there, we only have two full days, so not much time to explore everything. We aren’t really interested in attraction type days out, as we want to see the local area which is supposed to be very similar to our coast in Pembrokeshire.

Saying that, one place we are all very keen to visit is The Eden Project, and we are thrilled to be spending the day there on Sunday. Guess what? The Stick Man will be there – I hope I will be brave enough to meet him! There are also lots of great sounding survival techniques for big bro and sis to have a go at!

Somewhere else Mummy would like to visit is Port Isaac, which is Port Wen in the fab Doc Martin series on the TV. It is about an hour away from the cararvan site.

Polperro has been recommended to us as being very pretty, and having amazing Cornish pasties! One thing we will just have to sample, at least once, is a traditional cream tea. (With coffee for mum!)

So, there we are, our whistle stop visit to Cornwall and some idea of what we will be doing. Have you been to Cornwall? Is there anywhere you can recommend we visit? Particularly a lovely coffee shop (or two!)

  1. I love Cornwall although I haven’t been for ages. Growing up, my gran lived in Falmouth. We went there for our summer holidays most years. My wife liked the Eden Project when she went. Have a great visit!

  12. We love Cornwall, such a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommend a visit to St Michaels Mount, Lands End and Eden Project. Avoid Cornwall Gold though. If Springfields are open go there too but I think they maybe closed for refurbishment
