Positive Thinking

Welcome to our second post in a new series – Purely Positive. Posts to bring you nothing but positive vibes, motivation and inspiration.

Mummy has been reading a fab book all about Positive Thinking, and how powerful our thoughts are. As today is known as Blue Monday – the most depressing day of the year, what perfect timing to share this post with you.

Positive Thinking

Mummy says… ‘There is so much I want to share with you abut the subject of positive thinking, but I am going to limit it to the absolute basics. This is proven. It works. Try it and see, just start right now by being aware of your thoughts.

Your mind is like a magnet, what you think – what you ‘put out there’ is what you will attract back to you. Everything in the universe is made up of energy. Everything. Energy is magnetic.

Your thoughts and feelings will attract the same experiences back to you. If you are angry and bitter, you will attract more of the same back to you. We become what we think and what we feel.

Our present, and future reality is created by our thoughts and emotions.

So, getting your head around this is maybe tricky? Impossible? Believe me, if you can, it is liberating and actually makes sense.

So, you ‘get it’ and now you’re worried about what you are thinking and feeling!?

It is really simple, leave toxic, bad news, negative thoughts behind. Avoid negative people, situations and news as much as you can. You will actually find that the more you shift your thinking to positive thinking, the more you will attract more positive energies to you anyway.

Be grateful for what you DO have, not what you don’t have – or wish you had. Give thanks to whoever / whatever for what is in your life right now. (God, the angels, the universe, whatever sits well with you.) Give thanks for health, love, enough to eat, warmth etc.

Think, feel and speak positively – for example, ‘I always have enough money to feed my family/ put a roof over our heads / put fuel in my car, rather than ‘I never have enough money.’

It is hard to do at times, if you find yourself slipping, just start again. Don’t beat yourself up.

So, give it a go. Focus on all the good in your life, push away the negative, and enjoy life!

  4. I agree whole heartedly. I am definitely a glass half full person and try to look on the good side. I also believe you get back what you give out so I start the day with a smile, and smile as often as I can. It makes you feel good and if you’re lucky some one always smiles back.

  10. I am all for positive thinking – but often, it is easier said than done. Overall I am a positive person, but my depression and anxiety can make me fret and only see the negative. But I’m trying to overcome that (as much as possible) this year 🙂 x

  13. This is definitely something I need to try. It’s so easy to get caught up in work and things that have to be done that it’s difficult to see the positives. That said, if I’m feeling like things are getting on top of me I do take a few minutes out to calm down.

  17. I get this, I do. But sometimes it’s also important just to accept that at the moment, things are crap, allow yourself to wallow and realise it will get better. I’m not at a point where I can think positively at the moment other than to count on things getting better.

  22. I call these negative thoughts the Deal or No Deal theory. It really winds me up, when people win lots of money on that show, more than most people could dream of, yet walk away miserable, because they didn’t win more. So, when I have something, but it could be better, or more, I tell myself not to get ‘Deal or No Deal’ about it!

  24. Right now, there are so many negative people and negative vibes around me. I only ignore them. I will not be drawn into their drama. Life is too short to sulk and frown. For instant uplifting, I go own and bask in the warm sunshine in the early morning. It feels like I am wrapping myself in a force field, protected from the negativity in this world.
