Regular readers will know that we are Britax Mumbassadors, and have already reviewed (and love) the Britax Smile Pushchair.
Well, over the summer we have been trying out the fab Britax Evolva 1-2-3 Plus Car Seat. It is Group 1/2/3 (9 months – 12 years | 9 kg – 36 kg).
Britax say ‘The EVOLVA 1-2-3 plus offers reassuring safety from 9 kg until 36 kg. With 5-point harness for little ones using our Click & Safe® audible tensioning system and 3-point car seat belt for older children up to 36kg.This adaptable seat means there’s no need to upgrade as your children grow.’
Here is what we think of it…
I have needed a new car seat for a little while, we did have a second stage car seat, but it wasn’t wearing very well and Mummy wasn’t keen on it. The catch was tricky and a problem, so we were very excited to be sent the Evolva Car Seat for me 🙂
I am 3 in October, and we have been trying the seat for a couple of months.
As we would expect from Britax, it is the highest quality seat, and fits our car (Vauxhall Zafira) perfectly. I sit in the back all the time, but this seat can be used in the front passenger seat too.
Britax have a brilliant website called ‘Fit Finder‘ where you can put in your child’s weight, age, make and model of your car to find the perfect car seat – or to check that the car seat you like will fit in your car.
After checking, we were very happy to be sent the Evolva.
Fitting the car seat into the car was quite easy – and it fits very securely with the main seat belt feeding behind the back of the car seat.
Some car seats that Mummy has had with us have felt loose and a bit wobbly. The Britax Evolva is firm, solid and feels very safe.
The car seat has brilliant head support, which is fully adjustable, as are the padded straps. Mummy can adjust the straps easily by pulling the long strap gently, and to release them she presses a button easily found near the buckle. Simple, quick and a perfect fit.
So here are the main features again:
- Easy adjustment – height adjustable headrest, harness with one-handed adjustment
- Optimum side impact protection – deep, softly padded side wings
- Reduced forward movement – performance chest pads
- Smooth comfort – multi-position recline
- Simple installation – 3-point seat belt
- Reassurance built-in – CLICK & SAFE® harness tensioning confirmation
- Practicality in mind – quick-remove cover, no need to remove harness
- Easy access – harness retainers
We love the Britax Evolva Car Seat, we have it in Black Thunder, you can also buy it in Zebra or Chili Pepper colour ways.
The seat retails from £159.99

We are on the look out for a stage 2/3 car seat, and I am loving this. Especially as it has a 5 point harness. Thanks for sharing. x

We always went for Maxi Cosi, although our booster seat didn’t come with 5 point harness. So a 123 one like this is always good for the extra safety.
