Mummy has been to what sounds like an amazing day – Blog on Cymru in Cardiff. Lea and Luke and their friends looked after me and Bella the Pup, we had a great day with lots of fun! Mummy wants to share her day with you….
‘Living in West Wales we don’t get many blogger events within reach, so when it was announced that Blog On were coming to Cardiff I couldn’t wait. I bought my ticket super quick, and was super thrilled to secure sponsorship from the fantastic Stamptastic Ltd to attend.
It was my first chance to wear my super blog badge, kindly sent to me by Simoney Badges. I love my badge, it looked so professional, with my name, blog name and URL together with the little bugs from the blog! It is a high quality badge, and I would urge any blogger who goes to blog events to get one. I had lots of comments about mine, and was happy to be able to recommend Simoney Badges to fellow bloggers.
I also wore my Stamptastic Ltd TShirt 🙂
My alarm went off at 5.30am! I was out of bed at 5.45, Pickle must have sensed my excitement, and woke, bright as a button too! I had carefully planned everything so I could quietly sneak out, but he was having none of it! My darling daughter Lea, who had a huge sleepover of 3 friends, heard me get up, and came in With Pickle to look after him. Luke has a friend over too, so I had a houseful which I love – they were all helping to look after Pickle and Bella whilst I was away for the day.
I caught the 7.20 train from Haverfordwest, which went straight through to Cardiff Central. I was going to change there for Cathays, but hopped in a taxi with Emily & Becky which was perfect. Straight to the Sherman Theatres door! We arranged this via FB and it was great to arrive at the venue with somebody!
Going in, we bumped into Rebecca (Welsh Mum of 3 boys), who I first met last year at BlogConf, it was great to see her again.
Next was a hug from The Boy and Me – I actually had a quick view of The Boy later at lunch time – it was like seeing a TV star!! As I walked into the theatre I spotted Victoria Whelton and there, I’m afraid, I had a mini melt down and ran up to her, hugging her, gushing how amazing it was to meet her! Sorry Vic, I got a bit carried away!
I was similarly star struck when I realised I was sitting in front of Darren (One Dad 3Girls) !!
Other bloggers will understand, seeing and meeting this people that you spend a lot of
time interacting with on line is pretty awesome!
I love blogger events so much, it makes me feel part of something, a community, it
normalises what I do, realising that others do it too! There were brilliant workshops all day, in particular the lovely Lucy’s photography one and the amazing Karin Joyce’s Embrace Happy one.
I had interesting talks with Mel from Hotter Shoes – a brand I know bloggers love, and More Drinks.
Lunch, coffee, wine and cake was all included, and I left with not one but two unbelievable goody bags. Crammed full of treats for all of us, a new handbag and beauty stuff for me, games for all the children, healthy snacks and yummy goodies for us all, girls treats for Lea, magazine, colouring and much more for Pickle. I’ve never seen anything like it!
It was a brilliant, if long day. Huge thanks to The Boy & Me, Laura and Debbie for hosting it. And a HUGE thank you to all the great companies who contributed to the good bags. I am buzzing, full of ideas and things to do, more excited than ever for my next Blog Conference.’
Wow Mummy – good job! Sounds like a fab day, I am sure the others all felt the same! x

It was so lovely to meet you Kaz and give you a big hug – especially when I know about some of the things you have been through. What a wonderful thing to say about me too – you have absolutely no need to apologise (or be starstruck if I am honest!). Here’s to the next time we meet! xx
