The Bristol, A Luxury Hotel

The Bristol, A Luxury Hotel

Pickle says…. We love travelling and are lucky to travel quite a lot. We have stayed in all types of places but there is just nothing better than staying in a luxury hotel. Our recent stay at The Bristol in Bristol was everything we could have wished for in a hotel….

The Bristol, A Luxury Hotel

The Bristol, one of The Doyle Collection Hotels is in a fantastic location on the Harbourside, with lots of parking available in the NCP car park next door.

We had a disabled access room, Number 117 which was enormous – more like two rooms in fact. There were two double beds, a large bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, large flat screen TV, and loads of room. The beds were big and super comfy. The sheets were super quality too. The room was very luxurious. It even had a TeePee for me and a HUGE basket of sweeties and chocolate for Halloween!

A highlight of our stay were the really friendly reception staff, they were so welcoming and genuinely greeted everyone warmly – this does not happen everywhere and it makes such a difference. We want to give Marta a special shout out – she is a real asset to the hotel. She remembered Mummy’s name and was really lovely.

Once we had checked in our room ‘key’ (card) gave us access to the hotel from the car park via locked doors on each level. This was SUCH a great idea. We could unload and load the car from our room floor rather than having to go through the hotel.

We ate breakfast in the hotel in the most gorgeous dining room over looking the harbourside.  Again the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

There was a full range of hot and cold food and drinks. Toast, tea and filter coffee were served to our table, Mummy asked for a latte (you know by now how much she loves her coffee!), and a lovely lady was happy to do so. The rest of the food, and a choice of juices were available to serve yourself.

The whole hotel has a luxurious feel, it was a real treat to stay there.

Mummy was very happy to see veggie sausages as well as the most creamy, delicious scrambled eggs she has ever tasted.

We did have a couple of minor issues:

There was no shelf in the shower area or hooks in bathroom at all.

The bathroom was more like a wet room, but the shower flooded a lot of the bathroom floor.

These didn’t spoil our stay, they are just worth mentioning.

If you are looking to visit Bristol which is a fantastic city with so much to see and do, and want a real treat then we highly recommend you stay at The Bristol. You are minutes away from the fabulous shopping centres and the Aquarium and there are buses you can hop on to take you to The Downs, The Zoo, and other attractions. You don’t have to move your car once!

Thank you to The Bristol for having us, we really did have a wonderful stay.

  7. Well this hotel gets my approval if I get a teepee in my room!
Actually though, the hotel does look very good, nice and clean and very comfortable. I always appreciate a room that has a separate lounge area, I don’t like sitting on my bed. I am also very happy to see veggie sausages on the breakfast menu, something I sometimes struggle to find in some hotels.
