Pickle says… We had a lovely Easter break at Sandybrook Country Park, Ashbourne last month, the park is in Derbyshire – somewhere we have never visited before. So what did we think?….

There are two parks – Sandybrook Country Park and Darwin Forest. Both have luxury self catering lodges.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom Classic Vogue Spa Lodge with hot tub on the verandah which sleeps 6.

The master bedroom had a lovely en suite shower room.

There were also two twin bedrooms and a main bathroom with bath, shower and loo.

The lodge had an open plan living area, dining room and kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, and large fridge freezer.

Hot tub water is checked up to three times a day.

Each room has it’s own controllable heaters and the bathrooms have heated towel rails. The whole lodge was so warm and toasty, which is perhaps as well as the weather was awful! Grey, wet and cold every day.

Park facilities include:

Swimming Pool

Sauna

Poolside Spa

Games Room

Adventure Playground

Indoor Play area – for 7’s and under

Mini Golf

Bed guard, BBQ’s, fans, parasols hire.

DVD rental

Newspapers and Magazines delivery

The Coach House Bar & Restaurant

We invited Nana and Grandad to join us, and we are so glad we did as my Great Nan (My Nana’s Mum) passed away the first evening of our holiday :(  Our lodge holiday was just perfect for us all to spend time together in luxury and comfort, relaxing and chilling out. I LOVED the private hot tub as did big bro and sister. It was checked daily by park staff.

Sandybrook Country Park is in a perfect location to explore the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, Ashbourne is a very quaint little town, Bakewell is such a pretty place, famous for its puddings, and the Alton Towers is half an hour down the road with top thrill rides for the teens, and CBeebies Land for me. Reception at Sandybrook Country Park have discounted tickets.

We highly recommend staying here for a holiday, the park is a lovely base and the lodge is perfect.

For the latest availability, prices and offers visit the Sandybrook Country Park website.

We were guests of Sandybrook Country Park in exchange for our honest review.

  3. The lodge looks amazing and I love that there are adult things, like saunas and swimming pools, as well as kids play parks. Looks like a great get away for all the family.
