We absolutely love this time of year – Halloween and all the celebrations. We do keep an eye out for alternatives to all those sweets and chocolate though – even though we still have plenty of those, we do try to have a healthier Halloween…

Cauldron Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup packed fresh spinach
  • ½ banana, sliced (about ½ cup)
  • ½ cup whole-milk plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup honeydew melon balls
  1. Pop the mango, spinach, banana, yogurt, milk, and vanilla into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and add the melon balls to create the “bubbles.” You can download a free printable template here to make a black cauldron bowl topper to attach to this smoothie bowl.

Jack-o’-Lantern Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • ¾ cup reduced-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 strawberry, hulled and halved
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  1. Add the mango, yogurt, milk, and vanilla to the blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and decorate to look like a jack-o’-lantern, using strawberry halves for the cheeks and creating eyes and a nose with chia seeds.

Spiderweb Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 large banana
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • ½ cup reduced-fat milk or unsweetened nondairy milk
  • 1 tablespoon whole-milk plain yogurt
  1. Add the banana, berries, and milk to the blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl.
  2. Spoon yogurt into a small plastic bag. Snip off a tiny bit of one corner. Squeezing the yogurt through the hole, pipe 3 or 4 circles on top of the smoothie. Use a toothpick to create the web effect, dragging it from the middle of the bowl to the outside edge.

Witch Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup packed baby spinach
  • ½ banana, sliced (about ½ cup)
  • ½ cup whole-milk plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds, divided
  • 1 strawberry
  1. Pop the mango, spinach, banana, yogurt, milk, vanilla, and ½ teaspoon chia seeds in a blender. Puree until smooth.
  2. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and create the witch face by trimming the strawberry to look like a mouth and forming squinting eyes with the remaining ½ teaspoon chia seeds. You can download a free printable witch hat here to attach to this smoothie bowl.
