September? And we are almost at the end too! I say it all the time, but really, where is this year going? As I started my blog to record our family life and travels, I’d like to share our latest news…
Pickle – he has settled well into Year 2, loving the work and his new teacher. She taught my older children too so it is lovely to see her again. He will have some state tests this school year, which I didn’t realise, but we are not worrying. He hasn’t started any school clubs – I am aware that he ‘should’ be taking part in football or rugby but he just isn’t interested. I am certainly not going to force him.
He is 7 next month and we are thinking of getting him his first bike – again, I feel he should have had one by now. He did start swimming lessons in the summer holidays but wasn’t overly keen. I will try again in a group setting as he goes with the school after Easter and I don’t want him to be behind the others.
He still loves Lego, Minecraft, and Roblox. He also loves watching funny videos and cute animals on YouTube.
Luke – is now 17! We are sorting his provisional license so he can start driving! He is in the second year of Creative Media in college and seems to be enjoying it.
Lea – my 19 yo daughter is still home and we are loving having her here. She is working hard, still learning to drive and has started looking at Uni courses for next year. We are going to an open day in Bath next month and I hope she ends up going there as it is not too far away. She has had a good summer going out with friends a lot.
Mimi – is now 23 and still loves Bristol. I don’t see her as much as I would like but we did meet in Cardiff for a lovely brunch on her birthday in July. She came home for the August Bank Holiday too which was nice.
I am still awaiting Physio for my lateral hip syndrome condition and am in and out of pain a lot. I am still dating and ever hopeful of finding a good guy! Work is all good with the blog and my marketing job and I am starting a degree in marketing too!
We had a lovely summer holiday to the Lake District in August with my parents – and the weather wasn’t too bad either! We stayed in a lovely little glamping pod just outside Windermere – full review coming later this week.
I always like to have something to look forward to, and have booked a pre Christmas family break to Butlins which we are looking forward to, and I am looking into hopefully going to Orlando in 2021 to celebrate some BIG family birthdays.
I am so glad I have shared another update as they are so lovely to look back on. How is your September going?

I make sure to write a weekly update as I’d never remember half the adventures we got up to. Great post!

What a lovely family update, it sounds like everything is going well for people. I am so sorry you are suffering with pain in your hip that must be horrid.

Your 7 year old will love his first bike. Hope there is room in the garden or a local park where he can ride it. He’ll be over the moon.

Lovely to read an update on your family. Great that you are letting Pickle lead the way and not forcing him into any clubs he doesn’t want to do. Here is to an ace October! Mich x

I too feel like the year is running away from us, like how did that even happen. I am sure pickle will let you know if he likes any of the school clubs.

Your children have grown so much. The Lake District is lovely isn’t it? How exciting about your big trip to Orlando. We love visiting Florida, you will have so much fun

I did creative media at college and it was a fun experience. At my college, it was a very relaxed learning experience, and we were treated with respect like adults and not just seen as students. x

My little one has just started year 2 too. He has settled really well. Not looking forward to the SATS though
