Pickle says…We have had a VERY exciting weekend, having been invited to our local McDonald’s restaurant to try the BRAND NEW, first ever Vegetarian Happy Meal which comes with a Veggie Wrap. What did we think?

Mummy and I are virtually vegetarian and tend to choose the veggie option if we eat out. We both are also big fans of McDonald’s so were very pleased and excited to hear that on the 3 January this year they were launching the first EVER Vegetarian Happy Meal – The Veggie Wrap Happy Meal PLUS a Spicy Veggie Wrap for adults as permanent menu items. We think it is great that McDonald’s are always looking at ways to improve their menu. Happy Meals are such good value for money with a main (now including the new Veggie Wrap), a side – instead of fries I can have carrot sticks or pineapple, and a range of drinks including bottled water and milk. I also get a themed toy – all for around £3! Absolute bargain and if I add a fruit bag for only 49p, I have had a good hit of fruit too.

My family and I were invited to try the new Veggie Happy Meal along with other families to see what we think of this new option.

If you have watched my Instagram stories and highlights you will see that I LOVED the Veggie Wrap. My big sister actually had one too and she thought it was very tasty. We will definitely choose them again. Oh, Mummy and her partner J were keen and curious to try the Spicy Veggie Wrap for adults and LOVED it! The spicy relish certainly packs a punch, and they loved it.

Both options provide more choice and a tasty alternative for families and for those who want a meat-free option. As a family who goes for the meat free options, we give the new wraps a huge thumbs up!

The new Veggie Wrap (209kcal) available in the Happy Meal, is made with a Red Pesto veggie goujon, shredded lettuce and tomato ketchup all wrapped up in a small toasted tortilla wrap.

The tasty new vegetarian wrap for adults is:

The NEW Spicy Veggie Wrap (364kcal) made with two Red Pepper and Pesto Goujons, a generous dressing of Spicy Relish with Tomato, Lettuce and Red Onion all wrapped in a soft, toasted tortilla.

We highly recommend the new veggie menu options, look out for them when  you next visit McDonald’s!

  20. My older daughter is a veggie, and she grew up never having these options. Now I take Tilly to McDonalds and I know she would love to try this because sometimes she wakes up and decides to be a vegetarian – that lasts about 2 hours until she wants meat hahah

  21. I’m quite partial to a Big Mac (shhhhh! Don’t tell anyone!) but I’ve definitely found myself leaning towards more veggie dishes recently – I’m not sure if I’d even be able to give up meat completely, but I definitely want to cut down on the amount I eat, which is made easier by all these tasty veggie options! x

  22. That is a great idea to introduce this, I think I might try it when I visit McDonalds again, it looks very yummy!

  23. I’m a vegetarian and so this has really excited me! I’m so happy to see leading food chains starting to produce food that caters for us vegetarians and vegans! I have been bought up veggie and when I was a kid there was nothing I could eat when out with my friends or at children’s parties so this is a big step.

  24. Good to see what McD’s are providing more Vegan options, as I knew from first hand experience (my past McD employment) that Vegan options were very few and far between. 10 years too late but at least they are making some progress.
