Pickle says…. My school is moving forward with technology, yay! As Mummy works online she uses a lot of apps and is so excited to see that my class are using the Class Dojo App….
What is the Class Dojo App?
A free app that my school have joined for parents to log in to to see what their children are doing in class. Mummy was invited by my teacher, Miss P with a special code, to join.
Why join Class Dojo?
Miss P can send group class photos and messages to everyone who has signed into the app (these are parents of other children in my class only), and she can send individual photos of me and private messages to Mummy only.
Is it safe?
Mummy can only join with a code given from my teacher. Only Mummy can see my photos / messages sent to her. Only her and other parents can see the general class photos / messages sent to the group.
We are so excited about the Class Dojo App, it is a brilliant way for Miss P to pop a photo of what I am doing to Mummy, and also if she needs to send Mummy a message. It is great to keep in touch directly if I have been feeling a bit unwell or unhappy. Mummy can check I am ok so easily and quickly with Miss P.
Mummy only signed up to it this morning and has already been sent a photo of me playing outside, as I am suffering with a poorly ear, and I have a stingy scratch from Luna, one of our kittens, Mummy can see I am ok.
Isn’t this a great idea? Have you heard of the Class Dojo App? You can download it in iTunes or Google Play.
There is lots of information on the Class Dojo website.

Wow! That is some app and great to see that it is child friendly. It does make sense because kids are so tech friendly.

That’s such a good way of keeping track of whats going on at school, and it means that photos just stick between parents x

I have never heard of this app but would love for my littles boys school to start using it. My son tells me nothing about his day so it would be so nice to receive a message or photo to see what he’s been up to xx

Sounds like a useful app! I’ve heard of similar online systems for parents to access progress reports etc of their child in secondary school. This seems like a cool alternative!

This sounds a lot like the online learning diaries our nursery has for each kid. It is double password protected, and only the nursery care workers and parents have access. It’s great to get regular updates and photos of what our wee one is up to – at our previous nursery, we felt a lot more disconnected as we didn’t have those regular updates. And the best thing is, I can download any of the photos and send them on e.g. to grandparents or to save in our family album.

We use the Class DoJo app for school and Indie loves it. She gets 5 dojos for reading which is keeping her motivated at the moment. It’s a great way for school and parents to keep in touch
