Pickle says…We have been lucky enough to have visited Bluestone Wales a few times before, but never at Christmas. I was SO excited to spend a few days there in December and would love to tell you all about Christmas at Bluestone Wales…
We were hoping for bright, crisp, sunny days but got rain instead! Never mind, it never stops us, and we still had a wonderful time.
We stayed in an ‘Upside Down’ lodge where the bedrooms were downstairs. The main bathroom and an en-suite bathroom were also downstairs. It meant we had amazing views of the Preseli Mountains from the upstairs windows of the living area.
The lodges were so warm and cosy, each room had a wall heater which could be controlled by Mummy. We had the best nights sleep in the comfiest of beds, and were so ready to explore.
The lodges are well equipped with everything we could need, including plastic dinnerware for me, a dishwasher, towels and bedding, stair gates and free WiFi.
The highlights of visiting Bluestone Wales at Christmas time are:
The Kingdom of the Elves Experience which is included in your holiday price.
The Panto – this year it was Beauty and the Beast. (This is a charged extra).
Lots of craft activities to make cool Christmas decorations etc (Chargeable activity).
Christmas Lights are turned on every evening in the Village, following a lantern parade.
There is a Christmas Countdown every morning.
Yummy festive hot chocolates and coffees and delicious cakes at great prices in the coffee shop in the village.
Bluestone is wonderfully festively decorated, especially the Wild Wood Restaurant in the Adventure Centre.
The main reason we were very excited to be visiting Bluestone Wales and Christmas time was for the Kingdom of the Elves.
We absolutely loved it! The staff were amazing, friendly and very funny.
All who visit are given an Elf suit, Elf teddy or an Elf baby bib to keep. They are really good quality and a lovely keepsake to take home.
I made Reindeer food with Seren who was a very sparkly, happy Elf indeed.
I met the Snow Queen in the most magical room and had a ‘snowball’ fight with Mummy. I took part in dancing and games in a fun room with more Elves.
The whole experience was perfect for me and I loved that there was no Father Christmas as he does frighten me a little!
No loo upstairs in our lodge was a bit of a pain.
That the Kingdom of the Elves experience is included in the accommodation price.
