Welcome to another Weekly Catch Up. We love sharing our week with you and choosing the best photos to show you. It is so lovely to look back on what we have been up to. This is all about our week in France at the end of May with Eurocamp Holidays.
We stayed at La Vallee campsite with Eurocamp which is about a 35 minute drive from the ferry terminal at Ouistreham (Caen). We travelled over from Portsmouth with Brittany Ferries which took six hours on their ferry.
We took the 8.30am ferry from Portsmouth on the Saturday and arrived at the site just before teatime. It was beautiful, warm and sunny.
We unpacked and had a walk around, having pasta for dinner from the shop. We had a great nights sleep and on Sunday explored the site, and found a big supermarket near by.
It was a super early start on Monday for Disneyland Paris. It took about four hours to drive there. It was a gloriously hot sunny day. We headed straight to the parks. We were staying at a nearby Holiday Inn for two nights, and collapsed in our beds after an awesome day.
The hotel was great, on Tuesday we had breakfast and headed to the parks again. We had our tickets from AttractionTix. We stayed until midnight in the park, doing a little shopping after the Illuminations show. We were exhausted!
On Wednesday we made our way back to Normandy, after a great breakfast in the hotel. It was a scorching hot day. At the campsite we chilled and relaxed, and went in the pool.
Thursday we went to a nearby village Devis sur Mer and Port Guillaume Marina which was so pretty. We returned to the site in the afternoon, exploring the pool and slides. In the evening we went to Bingo in the bar which was loads of fun.
Friday we headed out to explore the local area. Mummy drove to Sword Beach where the British D Day landings happened and Pegasus Bridge – the first area to be liberated in France during WWII. It was very emotional, as the 73rd anniversary was the week after there were lots of people visiting dressed in traditional Forces uniforms.
Saturday 3 June was an early start to get to the ferry home for 8.30am. It was still lovely and sunny and warm, as it had been all week. What a change from last year!
We drove straight home, as we wanted a full day at home before school started on the Monday.
Sunday was spent unpacking, washing, seeing family and catching up on a toy review in the sunshine!
We really enjoyed our week in Normandy, we can’t wait to go back to France. Have you been to France?
