Mummy is very lucky to work from home, but she knows that a lot of Mum’s go out to work and this can be really stressful.
We have some great tips for you for easing stress at work, and even if you work from home too you can still practise them:
Deep breathing.
Try 5:7 Breathing. Breath deeply in for the count of 5, then exhale strongly for the count of 7. You can try 3:5 Breathing instead to start with – the idea is that you breathe in for a shorter count than you breathe out.
So much to do and feel overwhelmed? Think about one task at a time and only think of that one task until it is finished. Then move on to the next one.
Yoga.
Here is a little video to show you some yoga you can practice whilst in the office – why not try it in your lunch break and ask your work buddies to try it too? You can also give it a go if you are working from home.
You may be able to find an empty room to practice in, or if there are any folding meeting tables you can fold them out of the way to make room, or push desks to the side of the room.
Other things you can try for easing stress at work are burning essential oils – geranium and lavender are uplifting, balancing and calming. Drink lots of water, and take regular short breaks of 5-10 minutes if you can, popping outside for fresh air if at all possible.
Do you work in an office or somewhere else or from home? Do you have any tips to add for easing stress at work?

My watch reminds me to stand up and walk around once an hour, and I’m using that reminder to walk away from my desk for a couple of minutes and grab some fresh air or enjoy a cup of tea in the kitchen. And I also take a couple of deep breaths when I feel overwhelmed 🙂
