Our Best Moments of 2016

Well, it came and went. 2016 that is. Last year flew by, and it was a totally awesome year for us. Here are our best moments, some firsts for me – and all of us too!

Our Best Moments of 2016

2016 began with me starting nursery school in the afternoons for the first time on January 4th. Nursery was 1pm – 3.10pm and continued up to July. In September I moved to mornings – 9am – 11.45am.

I wore school uniform and on Wednesdays we went in old clothes as we explored outside and sometimes the local woods.

We had our first visit to Cornwall in February and stayed in a caravan in Looe. It was freezing but fun.

On March 17 I had my first hair cut in a children’s salon. Mummy had put it off as long as she could – she didn’t want to lose my curls. They did go a little bit.

At Easter we stayed near The Trafford Centre in Manchester so we could visit my great nana. Mummy, Lea and Luke went to see Macklemore in Birmingham in April.

In May Mummy took us on an epic holiday to France – she drove all the way there and back! We went to Disney Land Paris for the first time.

July saw us have our first glamping holiday in Devon and our first proper camping holiday on our own in Salisbury, followed by our first ever Festival – Camp Bestival.

In August we visited Warner Bros Studio Tour and Sealife in London for the first time, camping again just outside London.

Lea had her GCSE’s and left school in June. She gained 12 – A’s, B’s and C’s. She started a Music Technology course in college in September.

Luke went into year 10 and has started his GCSE option subjects, excelling in Art and Graphic Design.

MeeMee went into her third and final year of Uni in September.

In September my great nana had her 96th birthday, and I turned 4. We flew for the first time with EasyJet for our fifth holiday to our beloved Menorca.

We visited Lapland UK again in November – I was nervous at seeing Santa, but sat and talked to him with Luke.

December saw my first school nativity (or activity as I called it)! I was a shepherd. Also my first school party.

We had a lovely little break in Cardiff just before Christmas. Lea and Luke went to see The 1975 – Luke’s first concert on his own without Mummy.

So there are our best moments of 2016.

Not so great moments in 2016 were:

Our last kitty cat Chico dying in March following a car accident. Mummy, Lea and Luke were with her when she died 🙁

Several of Mummy’s music idols passed away including her favourites Prince and George Michael. They were 57 and 53. Very sad indeed.

A certain Mr T being elected as President of the USA. Enough said.

How was last year for you? Please let us know your best moments of 2016.

  24. Many highlights and achievements! Well done to Luke – i was never good at art, writing used to come naturally. Good grades makes adulthood a lot easier and has made it less stressful for me as education scares me now lol. Also jealous of your trips. Well done on the drive to france too x
