BritMums Live 2016 #BML16

So, I am on the train home after my second BritMums Live blog conference in London and wanted to share my highlights before I forget!

Britmums Live #BML16

I spent the weekend mostly with Zena, you must know by now that we are best friends after meeting through blogging two years ago. This weekend (and every time we meet) saw our friendship grow even more as we spend time catching up. We stayed at a beautiful apartment in West Kensington thanks to sponsor FG Properties.

We had a delicious meal at Jamies Italian on Friday night in Angel, I have never eaten at a Jamie’s Italian before, and was really impressed. The food was beautiful and  I loved the style of the restaurant.

We headed over to a drinks party at the Holiday Inn in Camden – WOW, Camden is awesome! What a vibrant, eclectic place, I loved it and spent most of the walk with my jaw dropped open! I am a real tourist in London, in awe of everything!

After a great nights sleep, and a lot of catching up with Zena, we arrived at The Brewery for #BML16 around 9.15am. The pastries had all gone (registration opened at 9!)

We had a really chilled, relaxed day – last year was mental, I crammed so much in and it took a week to recover! This year was different – it could be because I have been before, and maybe I have moved along quite a bit on my blogging journey, but I just didn’t get out of it anything particularly new for blogging. It is always helpful to cover old ground though, and pick up a tip or too from other bloggers! We attended a couple of sessions, talked with some great brands, drank some prosseco, and just enjoyed!

I did give in to setting up my SnapChat account (Kaz_Dee) and went to a great talk by Aly Hodge which was of huge benefit. I ‘get it’ a little more now! SnapChat is where I will be sharing ‘warts and all’ snippets of our lives. It already is a bit addictive!

It was great to meet some other bloggers with whom I spend quite a bit of time online, and great to catch up with some other old friends too.

We had a lovely meal at Pizza Express last night, meeting more new faces and catching up with my crazy blogger friend Jess, who literally makes my face ache through laughing so much.

It was a relaxed start to the day this morning, Zena and I parted at the tube station at around 9am and I caught the train to South Wales at 10.37am.

So, my highlights:

Seeing Zena

Talking with a couple of brands that look like (hopefully) we could build some good future collaborations with.

Lunch – delicious this year!

Free prosseco courtesy of The Caravan Club Big Little Tent Fest room.

Staying in a gorgeous apartment in a quiet area of the city.

Learning about SnapChat 😉

My lowlights:

No pastries, very limited ‘nice’ coffee (last year it was plentiful). You know how how much I love my coffee!

Being told off twice by a BritMums team person for being where I shouldn’t (In the Hub too early and too late!)

A lot to cram into just one day this year.

It was a great weekend, I am so thankful to my sponsors for enabling me to go this year, I simply couldn’t do it without their support.

It was more about the networking this year, which is always so much fun and brings ongoing benefits to me and my blog. Did you go to Britmums Live #BML16 this year?

  1. Hi there, this sound like a lot of fun! Just out of context and curiosity, do you know if Mumsnet is doing another blogfest this year? Just wondering if you heard anything while at the conference? // sorry for asking.
