This post is written by big brother Luke, who is 13 and a huge superhero fan. He gives us his views on the amazing films due out this year, and we ask if you are a Marvel or DC superhero fan?
“This year there are multiple superhero movies coming out from both Marvel and DC. Most people have a bias opinion on whether DC or Marvel are better but I really love both companies. DC tends to go more towards the gritty side of movies whereas Marvel goes with the more “light” and “fluffy” side of things.
Here are my most anticipated superhero movies of this year!
Batman V Superman – Dawn of Justice
Starting off on the 25th of March we have Batman v Superman, we have already had our three trailers so all that’s left to come now is the actual movie!
The movie should be dropping in cinemas at a PEGI 12 age rating. Expect to see Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Also expect some hints to be dropped on the appearance of Aquaman. The story arcs on Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Clark Kent (Superman) having a dispute about the bat prowling the city of Gotham as seen at the start of the first trailer. They then battle it out to eventually become allies with Wonder Woman to beat the bigger threat aka Doomsday.
Soon after that we have Captain America : Civil War Coming to cinemas on May the 6th. Personally this is the movie I am most excited for, even though I am a fan of both Marvel and DC, Marvels cinematic universe appeals to me much more than DCs. So the movies plot starts off with the government (or Shield in this case) narrowing
down on the superheroes after all the destruction caused in the previous movies (The Winter Soldier and The Avengers). Tony Stark (Ironman) played by Robert Downey jr is happy to go along with these decisions as he takes most of the destruction on his shoulders and blames himself. But Captain America (Played by Chris Evans)
has mixed feelings about this decision. Probably because the government is also closing in on Bucky (Captain Americas closest friend) because of all the destruction he has caused over the past number of years. Even though Bucky was mind washed by numerous people whilst committing these crimes, Shield still continues to try to catch him. And thus we have Captain America v Ironman. There will be multiple superheroes choosing allies between Cap and Stark depending on their situation in the whole thing, expect to be seeing characters like Black Panther, Ant Man and yes, our friendly neighbourhood Spiderman!
Now we haven’t had any trailers for the films coming up after these two, apart from Suicide Squad, but the trailer doesn’t really give us any plot or story line. I will still link it because its an awesome trailer but there isn’t any story line at this moment in time. I will still list the films below in order of release for you to check out.
I am super exited to see what phase 3 of the superhero movie industry bring us and see whether Marvel or DC comes out on top.
