Planning a weekend for you

Planning a weekend for you maybe difficult, but it will benefit you greatly. Whether it’s going for a nice walk, reading, catching up on that television series you have been meaning to watch for a while, or cooking yourself something different, there are lots of ways to relax to replenish the soul.

planning a weekend for you

Why not try some new recipes this weekend? This is a lovely way of relaxing, and creating some gorgeous meals either just for yourself, or for you and your partner. If you are fresh out of ideas, there are countless websites which give you plenty. You might be feeling adventurous, and create a dish which will challenge you, such as a cheese soufflé, or add a twist to a recipe which you might have become used to, like Guinness beef stew. You could be entertaining friends, so plan a starter, main and dessert. There are lots of sites which offer the classic crème caramel recipe, or creating your own dip for some delicious appetisers. International cuisine is always a favourite, and full of flavours, so try something new to add to your culinary range.

Once your children are in bed you might want to just relax in front of the TV. Why not sign up for Netflix? You can catch up on a TV series, such as Luther, or try Making a Murderer which everyone seems to be talking about.

If you have some time to yourself during the day, at the weekend, then why not get some exercise? Whether it’s some power walking, cycling, or swimming, there are lots of benefits to getting exercise, which will set you up for the week ahead. It improves your mood, boosting your self-esteem and confidence, combats health conditions, controls weight, boosts energy, and promotes better sleep. Work out what exercise you enjoy doing the most, either by joining a gym, or by getting out in the fresh air. Maybe you prefer to exercise with someone else, to keep you motivated, or do a group class workout, whatever you prefer, any exercise you do will be of benefit to you.

Now you have some ideas to think about when planning a weekend for you, do you have any you can add? What will you do this weekend?

  1. I like not cooking on the weekend as I cook in the week but also I love going out for lunch, planning holidays, watching films on a Saturday night and going for long walks.

  7. I have to admit, I love it when L’s bedtime comes around and I can spend a bit of time to myself. I love netflix, so many good series to watch on it. The problem I have is choosing what to do first lol

  8. The weekend just gone was spent ferrying my daughter about between parties where she had a fantastic time, but I was exhausted. Now I’m sick! So this weekend, other than a family meal, as I am child free I plan on catching up on sleep, reading, sleeping some more and probably a bit more reading. We’ve been on the go every weekend all month, I just want to stay in! But first I’ve got a week of school runs, swimming lessons and gym class…
