I’m ok Mummy, really I am. I have been feeling so very poorly since the middle of the week with tonsillitis, my temperature reached 40 and you thought you might have had to take me to hospital in the middle of Thursday night. It is the poorliest I have been I think, ever. We have not had a good couple of days and nights, but thank goodness yesterday (Saturday) I woke with a ‘green’ temperature, and have picked up a little. This photo is on the train to Cardiff – it is my big sister Lea’s Big Birthday Weekend and everything was all booked. I know you wouldn’t have taken me if I was too poorly, I am so glad I was well enough to travel because I am having a lovely time. Thank you for looking after me. I am sorry I screamed hysterically when you tried to give me my Penicillin, it just tastes SO bad.
I am glad that by yesterday morning I realised that it was making me feel better, and I just took it with a lot less fuss. I know you tried your best, mixing it in yoghurt, with Calpol which I like and pleading with me and begging me to take it, I know it was because you were so very worried.
I know it must have been so hard for you during Thursday night when you rang the Emergency Doctor who told you to call 999 if I started fitting. How scary, because you are the only adult in the house. As brilliant as big bro and sis are, it is all down to you really.
Anyway, I am feeling better now and the worst is over.
I love you Mummy x x
Mummy says…
‘My darling Ickle Pickle, you scared me! You were SO poorly, I was worried sick about you. I will do anything I have to, to help you get better. You are getting back to your usual smiley, happy self thank goodness. I am just so thankful that you are on the mend. I love you so much x x’

Awww bless him. I hate it when they are ill. They are so vulnerable and you feel so helpless. I battled with tonsillitis for 20 years and then finally had them out. Best thing I’ve done. You must have been very scared to see a temp that high x

When they get this ill it really is terrifying. It makes you wish for them to be older just to have that communication. Sounds like you did a god job and got it all under control though. x

Ah no poor ickle pickle. This year around is the worst time of them being sick. We just had a sick house for over a week. Luckily it was only a typical cold with runny nose and bad coughs but I have taken the youngest to the doctor and her throat ear and chest is clear.
