My Friend Freddy Bear

As you probably know, I was 3 last month, and I was kindly sent My Friend Freddy Bear to see what I think of him. You may have seen his advert on the TV. I had seen it and really wanted to meet him, so I was very excited.

Mummy met him in the Summer at Britmums and told me how great he was too!

He is a super soft teddy bear that talks to me! He works with an app on Mummy’s phone to read to me or play games with me – he even knows my name!

He connects by something called Bluetooth (what a funny name!) to Mummy’s phone and that is how he knows everything about me, because Mummy answered all the questions in the app.

Freddy has lots of features that Mummy likes:

*She could get everything ready with the app before I opened the box to let him out, all she had to do was pop his batteries in, choose the language he speaks to me in, and connect the Bluetooth thingy.

*There are three stages of learning – Freddy will ‘grow’ as I do.

*You don’t need any internet connection to play – so we can play anywhere.

*Mummy can turn the volume up or down with the app.

*Freddy automatically shuts off and goes to sleep.

Freddy moves his mouth when he talks, and does so many things that we haven’t tried yet such as recording messages and talking about my family when I make a photo album of them in the app. He also talks to me and giggles even when he is not connected to the app.

These are screen shots off the app on Mummy’s phone. The first is one of the games – Freddy asked me to find an animal, and makes the noise of the animal. The other two are from one of the books that Freddy can read to me ‘The Three Little Pigs’. I can go to the next page by tapping the little arrow.

Top Tips for using Freddy Bear

Download the app before giving Freddy Bear – especially if it is a birthday. Answer all the questions so Freddy gets to know the child.

You can set up Freddy’s App with him still in the box, but you need to take him out and put the batteries in to wake him up.

He needs 3 x AA batteries.

My Friend Freddy Bear is perfect for tots aged two and over and would make a brilliant Christmas present.

The app is available for iOS and Android, you can check compatibility at

Thank you for my new friend Freddy Bear 🙂

  1. This teddy sounds great. I love the fact that it’s interactive with an app and can read. It also sounds ideal that you can sort all that out before even opening the box x
