Why a late Summer holiday?

We have never been abroad in September before – so why are we planning a late Summer holiday?

Basically we are totally fed up of the winter summer, of the cold and the rain, and we have been dreaming of somewhere warmer and sunnier 😉

We went to Menorca last year, my first holiday abroad, and I LOVED it! We were not planning to go abroad this year, but we have been invited back to Menorca to stay at the incredible looking Royal Son Bou Hotel.

As the name suggests, the hotel is in the popular resort of Son Bou – somewhere Mummy and the others have stayed twice before, and we all went for the day last year.

Son Bou Beach

Why Menorca?

It is roughly a two and a bit hour flight from the UK.

A family friendly island where the locals love children.

Virtually guaranteed sunshine with over 300 sunny days a year.

So many beautiful beaches, villages and historical sites to visit.

Son Bou facts

Son Bou is on the south coast of the island approximately 25 minutes drive from the airport near Mahon.

Son Bou has the longest beach on the island- it is about 2.5 k.m long.

Mahon (The current capital) is a 30 minute drive and Ciutadella (The old capital) about 35 minutes.
