My First Cinema Visit

Today we travelled ‘Up North’ for a little holiday. We always stay near The Trafford Centre and this year, for the first time, we are going to the cinema there. It will be my first visit EVER! The cinema is an Odeon one, and looks fab.

I am only 2. Nearly 2 1/2. We are going to see ‘Home’. I am sure I will be ok, because I’ve watched the trailers about 1000 times, and I LOVE Sheldon (Jim Parsons) from The Big Bang Theory – yes, thanks to my big bro, I watch it. A lot. And I know all their names (knock, knock, knock, Penny?) so I am super excited.

Mummy says it is on a HUGE screen, like a HUGE TV. I don’t really know what to expect!

I have asked Mummy to do / bring the following, to make sure our visit goes well!

1. A drink. I will get thirsty I’m sure.
2. My favourite snacks. I’ll probably drop half of them, and throw the rest, but, at least it will occupy me for a bit! Including raisins, blueberries, orange (nice smell for everyone), my toddler crisps, ( I’ll find the noise very funny I’m sure), and, of course chocolate. Several types of chocolate for bribery.
3. No ipad or colouring stuff, I don’t think I’ll be able to see, and my iPad will annoy other people!
4. A very small torch (or phone app torch). I will drop everything. At least twenty times.

Other top tips for my first cinema visit are…

Sit near the aisle so we can leave quickly without disturbing everyone else. If possible, book online to choose the seats.

Find out what time the actual film starts, and go then, missing the adverts. That will be up to half an hour less of me having to sit still!

Mummy, please don’t expect too much – I have never been anywhere like this before and might not like it.

Make sure I have a nap before – or book to go as early as is possible. When I am tired, I am grumpy.

This may sound a bit silly, but double check that it is a film I do want to see – one that will be interesting for me. And not one that is too long.

Have you been to the cinema with a tot? If so, how was it?

  1. Great advice. I really hope you have a good time and that your mummy follows all your tips (and enjoys herself too!) It’s always good to go to a film which isn’t very scary as we still remember having to leave a film or two when ours were very little….

  2. Oh wow how exciting, have fun. The first film I took my little man to watch was The Lorax and it was a real adventure. Also love big bang btw
