Mummy was lucky enough to be offered a stay in a newly refurbished Travelodge recently, and we chose Cardiff Atlantic Wharf, the night before we flew out to Menorca. We had two rooms, one a family and one a twin.
The directions to the Travelodge were great, but getting into the actual car park is not clear.
There was only one lady covering reception and bar at 8pm on arrival, so Mummy had a ten minute wait to check in.
The room was great, we were very impressed, compared to the last Travelodge we stayed in, a couple of years ago.
The beds were so much better, so comfortable. The rooms were lovely and clean, and there was plenty of room There were no bedside tables which would have been handy.
Air conditioning would be brilliant, the room was too hot, but noisy with window open. It was a really hot night though.
I slept sooooo well! I did go into a lovely travel cot to sleep, provided by Travelodge.
Breakfast was good, plentiful, hot, and Mummy said nice coffee with options of latte, cappuccino etc
The restaurant was lovely too, very modern and clean.
There were good 24 hour snacks available, we had pizza and it was delicious.
Brilliant location for Cardiff bay and the Millennium Centre. The Travelodge validated our parking ticket for the whole of the day so we could walk to Cardiff Bay before we flew. My Mummy told my Nana and Grandad how great this Travelodge is, and they have booked to stay when they see The Lion King in Cardiff!
We would stay again, and highly recommend this Travelodge.
Cardiff is a fantastic city, with so much to do for everyone. Our favourites are…
1. (Mummy’s favourite!) Shopping! The most amazing shopping centres in such a beautiful city.
2. The Motorpoint Arena . Mummy and the others have seen Katy Perry, One Direction, JLS and The X Factor tour there.
3. The Millennium Centre – there are always brilliant shows on, and this Travelodge location is perfect. Lea saw War Horse here earlier this week. (There is also St Davids Hall where they have regular popular children’s acts).
4. St Fagans National History Museum, a big open air museum, showing the heritage of Wales.
Brilliant value for money
Really comfortable beds
Fab pizza! 🙂
No bedside tables
Air conditioning would really make a difference
