We have our very own theme park in Pembrokeshire – Oakwood Theme Park and my family has visited on and off since it first opened.

We were invited to go along last week and see what’s new for 2019 and enjoy the After Dark fun…

Oakwood Theme Park is home to some pretty cool rides including a wooden roller coaster – Megaphobia, Speed, a coaster with an inverted drop and loops and Drench – a water ride.

This year, a new pretty cool ride – Dizzy Disc has opened which is so much fun.

Also new is Spooky Walk – a very scary area with lots of year-round cool spooky stuff. The main attraction being Witch Hunt – which looked absolutely terrifying. Live, dressed actors take part in scaring you half to death! Not for children or the faint-hearted.

Oakwood Theme Park has an awesome looking schedule of events for Halloween, so if you in the area then make sure you get your tickets.

After Dark has finished now until 2020, the park stays open until 10pm and you can ride the big rides in the dark. This year also had Colur Fest where you could buy coloured powder to throw at each other to then see it glow in the UV lights.

There was also live music, a DJ and the atmosphere was brilliant – as it got darker it was really fun to see the rides all lit up with coloured lights.

The children’s area is still Neverland but is just starting to look a little dated.

We had food in the centre of the park and were amazed that there were no kids meals on offer – I had to pay £7.95 for an adult chicken burger and fries with a soft drink. There were other food places but at 8.20pm the staff weren’t sure if they were still serving food. There also weren’t any benches or picnic table on the main grass in the middle where the music etc was and as it was late and damp most people were standing eating as they didn’t want to miss the atmosphere.

A day ticket at the gate is £33.50, but you can get 10% discount on tickets if you buy online however it is still £31.65 per adult and child over 13 which I feel is expensive. All the rides are free except Vertigo.

For the rest of 2019, Oakwood Theme Park is open:

Saturdays from 7 Sept – 12 Oct 10am–4:30pm

19,20,27,28,29 October, 1,2 November –  Halloween Event: 10:30am–5pm Spooktacular

26,31 October –  Late Night Halloween Event: 10:30am–8:30pm Spooktacular Bites Back!

3 Nov – Season Finale with Fireworks: 10.30am–5.30pm Firework Spectacular

We do think the Halloween programme looks amazing and well worth going to. The park closes on 3 November until it re-opene in Spring 2020.

Have you ever been to Oakwood Theme Park?
