Our Easter 2019

Our Easter 2019

I was having a look through some old posts whilst researching something and can’t believe how quickly time flies. I got lost in reading some posts about what we got up to and who was doing what, and I remembered that’s the real reason I started this blog over five years ago….

Our Easter 2019

So, as we come to the end of April, following our Easter Holidays, I thought I would share where we are all at and what we have been up to.

It has been lovely having all four children together for Easter, especially as MiMi couldn’t make it home for Mother’s Day. She is settled and happy in Bristol with a great job as a content executive for a digital marketing company. She house shares with some girl friends and I am so proud of her.

Lea completed her first year of Uni, but won’t be returning in September. You may have read about her immense struggles with her mental health in her blog, and I have written about it too. She has decided to take a year out to be at home to get herself together, heal and think about what she really wants to do and where she wants to be in September 2020 – it looks like another music course, but a little closer to home than London. She also wants to learn to drive in the coming year.

Luke is not far off finishing his first year in college and will be returning for Year 2 of Creative Media in September. He is currently job hunting for the summer. He turns 17 in July and wants to learn to drive asap.

And Pickle? He is doing really well in Year 1 and was put on to Stage 10 in reading a few weeks ago. His reading is amazing – he managed to read almost all of his Easter Egg hunt clues this year! On returning to school after Easter he has started hand writing and is very excited about it! He is obsessed with Minecraft and  a You Tube guy called Unspeakable who is a Minecraft nut as well. LEGO is also still at the top of his things to do, as is his Amazon Kids Kindle.

easter 2019

We had a lovely first week, the weather was absolutely glorious since Wednesday – it peaked at 25 degrees last Saturday when we visited Scolton Manor. We are having a bit of a staycation and exploring what is on our doorstep. We have been to Freshwater West beach, coffee at Stackpole Walled Gardens and The Boathouse in Stackpole Quay. On Wednesday we went to Dinefwr Park, a stunning National Trust property in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. We had our first visit of the season to Folly Farm on Thursday, we are working with them this year to promote their annual passes so look out for lots of visits and posts from us.

Week two saw us visiting Folly Farm twice more, as well as some retail therapy, a visit to Milford Marina, Saundersfoot and Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire. The weather started to turn on Tuesday and by last weekend it was freezing with gale force winds!
