A few weeks ago I was invited to afternoon tea at The Waldorf Hilton in London, along with some other bloggers, by my good friend and blogging partner in crime, Zena from Zena’s Suitcase. I have never experienced afternoon tea, so was very excited and curious to see what it was all about…
The Waldorf Hilton is situated in the heart of London, to me it is one of the most iconic hotels in London and I couldn’t wait to get inside! The Waldorf Hilton oozes old school charm and luxury, with doormen in bowler hats to greet you, and take you inside. I popped my jacket and suitcase (I had not long arrived in London and travelled straight from the train) into the cloakroom, and went through to the Homage Restaurant where afternoon tea was being served.
The room was incredibly elegant, with gentle classical piano music being played, later a lady played the harp. The staff were very attentive and helpful, I had a delicious appetiser followed by platters of equally delicious sandwiches before a sumptuous cake stand filled with warm freshly baked plain and fruit scones with clotted cream and jam, mini pastries and chocolate creations.
You can see the full menu of what is included above, we had The Waldorf Afternoon Tea with a glass of champagne. You also have the option of no additional drink, or a glass of sparkling wine. I was very happy that I was able to have a delicious latte, as I am afraid I have to reveal that I am not a big tea fan! The other bloggers at our table all tried various teas and reported that they were very good indeed.
We were also treated to a cocktail – Franca and I chose a strawberry and vodka creation which we all named a ‘Frazz!’
By the time we had finished, the restaurant was full, Afternoon Tea at The Waldorf Hilton is clearly very popular. I highly recommend this as a real treat for a special occasion, the whole experience was so luxurious, a real taste of luxury.

Hilton is a name you can trust, so this afternoon tea looks every bit as delightful as I would expect it to be. Thanks for the recommendation, I’m just looking to boo afternoon tea at the moment as an Xmas gift. Mich x
