We were very excited to be asked to stay at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel over the Easter holidays, and decided to stay on the way up to Manchester, and on the way back too. We were visiting my 96 year old Great Nana. We would love you to read what we thought of this hotel.
Mummy and the others stayed at a Hilton Hotel years ago, and remembered how lovely it was. She couldn’t wait to take us to this one.
The Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel is in a fantastic location – five minutes walk from the NEC complex with shows, shops and restaurants as well as lovely grounds. It is about a ten minutes walk from Birmingham International Train Station. It is then just a ten minute ride to Birmingham New Street Train Station in the heart of the city.
My teen bro and sis were seeing Jon Bellion, an American singer in the 02 Institute in Birmingham. They caught the train with no problems at all. The venue was a ten minute walk from New Street and Mummy didn’t have to battle driving through rush hour traffic.
On both nights our room was a twin room which had connecting doors to another twin room where the teens slept. Two TV’s, two bathrooms – every family with teen’s dream! The rooms were well equipped and had the most comfortable beds EVER! The bathrooms were stunning and had the loveliest toiletries and towels for us.
The breakfast was a full self service hot and cold buffet. Unlimited tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juices were also included. It was all piping hot and delicious. A lady made fresh omelettes too. We didn’t dine at the hotel in the evening, but Mummy did treat herself to a coffee or two from the Costa Coffee Shop in the foyer!
The hotel has a gorgeous pool and spa, should we be lucky enough to stay here again I would love to go into the pool. Unfortunately Mummy had an eye infection, and Lea an ear infection, so we couldn’t go in.

I love Hilton Hotels, I have stayed in a few with my eldest when she was younger and found them to be perfect for families. The breakfast is one of my favourite hotel breakfasts as they have so much choice. It looks like you all had a lovely stay xx

I regularly attend events at the NEC so it’s good to know what the hotel offers. I think next time I’m down that way I’ll pay that little bit extra and stay here. Sometimes a good night sleep is worth just picking the next cheapest option.
Shame you didn’t manage to have a dip in the pool, it looks nice from the images I can see!

Great to find a hotel in Birmingham to stay at the next time i’m there. Last time I stayed at the Paragon Hotel and armed police turned up- most frightening experience at a hotel ever. The Hilton looks far superior! xxx

Oh no sorry to hear about the infections, I hope you are both better now. I like that there was good service at the Hilton and even unlimited hot choccy! Yum x

It looks a great hotel with lots of options for families, I do like interconnecting rooms so that the kids aren’t disturbed when us parents watch tv.

Lovely looking hotel, with good standards. Great that you could have adjoining rooms, with the connecting door. I often find that when booking at hotels for a family, they put you in rooms across the corridor, which I find a little annoying.

I love a good overnight adventure; sounds like you all had a blast (apart from the illnesses – how annoying!). So many great attractions nearby too. X

Funny when I travel to Birmingham this Hotel is where I normally stay. The hotel really is conveniently located especially if travelling by train and yes the beds ARE SO COMFORTABLE! but then again, the Hilton Hotels usually are well kept

The best bit of staying in a hotel for me has to be the bit where my kids can make lots of mess at breakfast and for once I don’t have to clear it up!
It looks as though you all had a great time
