Mummy says…With there now being a huge 2.8 million Android apps alone, as well as iOS apps available for download, it’s clear to see that apps are becoming a part of everyday life for millions of people around the world, especially teenagers.

Great Apps for Teenage Girls

With a huge 73% of today’s teens having instant access to a smartphone, it would make sense to assume that the majority of apps downloaded today are from teenagers looking for anything from music to tips and tricks to help them through daily life.

It’s no secret that generally speaking, teenage girls face more modern pressures and stereotypes than boys, and the smartphone world has certainly responded by creating apps specifically designed to help teenage girls with a variety of topics from periods, to makeup, to relationship advice. So, if you have a teen daughter looking to download some useful ones for her phone, here are some great apps for teenage girls:

Period tracker

Unless she is super organised, it’s likely she may have been caught by surprise when her period arrives. And, if she is always on the go and doesn’t have any supplies, she could be left in a very tricky situation! So, downloading a period-tracking app can help make sure this doesn’t happen. The majority are very discreet and extremely user-friendly, requiring you to simply enter when your period starts and stops at the simple click of a button.

The app will then estimate when and how long her next period is likely to be and allow her to keep track of her menstrual symptoms too – great for picking up any abnormalities and ensuring she is as in-tune with her cycle as possible!

Weather Live Free

Is she planning a meet up with friends at the beach? Or should they plan to go to the cinema because rain is forecast?

Having an app like Weather Live Free will help her to make her plans according to the great British weather!  Giving up-to- date local weather forecasts for the next 7 days and even accurate wind speed readings, this free app makes it easy to keep an eye on the weather.

How to Do Your Own Makeup

Teen years are when the majority of girls start experimenting with makeup. Everyone needs a little help, and a great app can show her some great ideas and techniques.

This handy makeup app will not only keep things age-appropriate but will also give simple tips and tricks on how to easily create gorgeous makeup looks and answer any makeup related questions you may have.

Being a teenager can be tough, especially a teenage girl, so it makes sense to take advantage of as many helpful apps as she can. The above are some great apps for teenage girls – have you any to add?
