Weekly Catch Up 1-21 January 2017

Hello 2017! We are changing how we record our days – we have kept a daily diary in the form of Project 365 and then Photo a Day for over two and a half years up till last October, and switched to more weekly round ups from November. It is lovely to look back on, but a lot of work to keep up with. So welcome to our Weekly Catch Up to start the New Year.

So, how was our start to 2017? We can’t believe we are already over two thirds of the way through the month! Here is our Weekly Catch Up 1-21 January 2017:

2 January 2017

New Years Day was great – our tradition of breakfast in the village followed by watching the New Years Day Swim where over 1800 people entered the sea! A damp grey cold day. We had tea at Nana and Grandad’s.

We had a great day on the Monday, it was a glorious sunny day and Mummy, Lea and I went into Tenby and onto the beach. We found a new gorgeous coffee shop too!

Wednesday 4 January was our first day back at school and college – and my first day of all day school. I was exhausted! And hungry, and grumpy!

Thank goodness it was a three day week! Mummy had a blood test on Friday and they failed to get any blood. She is very frightened by needles so this wasn’t great for her.

We had a lovely weekend together. Mee Mee set off on Sunday 8th from her Uni house in Bristol to Heathrow airport to fly to Thailand via Bahrain. She went to meet her boyfriend who is running a bar in Laos, and she flies back on 28 January. Daddy took us out for a delicious Sunday lunch.

9 January – Mummy and Lea escaped to the cinema on Tuesday to see Collateral Beauty. They have never done this before! Mummy had an eye check on Thursday. Her eyes are all better, following a nasty virus before Christmas. On Friday Mummy had another blood test. It was ok this time.

16 January – Mummy and Lea poorly this week, both with a virus. Mummy’s blood tests came back with extremely low iron and folate, and she is anaemic. She has virtually no immune system so fighting the virus is leaving her exhausted and in pain. Lea us being tested for Glandular Fever.

A quiet week, school ok – I was telling Mummy I didn’t like school, but this week I said I do like it. It is just such a long time. It is a long day away from Mummy. I have been grumpy – I don’t like it when Mummy is poorly and I haven’t seen her like this before. After a grey, damp miserable week we had a chance to get out into the sunshine on Saturday. It was FREEZING but lovely to see the sun. I helped my Grandad who is making scenery for the local am dram society. I told him his windows were amazing 😉
