I am a really good boy and only drink water – apart from baby milk, it is the only drink I have had. It is a different story for my teen bro and sisters!
Mummy stuggles to get them to drink more water – my sisters (now aged 16 and 19) are actually getting better as they get older, MeeMee (19) does drink far more than she did, and Lea (16) has been drinking more during her GCSE’s – the school has even been providing water to take into the exams.
It is super important to drink water at every age, but especially important for teens, as water helps with concentration and memory which is much needed when revising for any exams, and just coping with every day school work and homework.
Being dehydrated can cause tiredness, headaches, grumpiness and affect sports performance.
I love water because I have never really tried anything else, but I hear my bro saying that water is boring….or tasteless…. ‘I just don’t like it!’ So Mummy has been thinking of ways to make water fun, and thank goodness Robinson’s have come to the rescue with their #EnjoyMoreWater campaign with their clever little Squash’d drinks.
Squash’d are small little bottles of concentrated squash in delicious flavours that you just add to water. Each bottle has 20 servings inside, and transforms any glass or bottle of water into a delicious fruity drink. You can pop one in your handbag, changing bag, or lunch bag knowing you always have a refreshing drink with you.
Teen bro loves them! As does Mummy – she knows that she doesn’t drink enough water either, but loves these drinks.
Where we have been making water fun:
At home after water pistol fights in the garden.
At the beach, it is especially important to drink more water in the sun, as you sweat more.
Days out – save money too by taking Squash’d with you to add to tap water or take bottled water with you.
Travelling – take one in the car, on the train or bus. You can also take onto an aeroplane to liven up bottled water flight side or on board.
Keep one handy after a hard day at school to hydrate tired brains!
Another great idea is to use a fruit infuser water bottle to keep hydrated while getting a good amount of vitamins from the fruits.
