Bath Christmas Market and Travelodge

We love all the Markets that will be held up and down the country for Christmas. We would love to visit the Bath Christmas Market, we have been to the Cardiff one, and as MeeMee is in Bristol she showed us last year her photos of how lovely the market is there.

We are hoping to go to Bath again, and we would stay at the Bath Waterside Travelodge. We were lucky enough to stay there in the Summer, and we had a brilliant time.

We love Travelodge and have stayed in quite a few now, they never disappoint us. For value for money, clean, comfy beds and a good breakfast you can’t beat them.

We have never stayed at this Travelodge, and although Mummy has visited Bath, we never have, and none of us have ever stayed in Bath.

This Travelodge did not disappoint, it is quite a large one, with a seating area in the entrance, a bar and separate restaurant over looking the water. There is plenty of parking which is great, as you can leave your car there and walk into Bath. There is a nominal car parking charge.

Our room was lovely and large – obviously a family room. Our only complaint was the lack of a proper dressing table and the tiny rail that was instead of  wardrobe.

Breakfast was a range of juices, coffees and teas, cereals, toast, croissants ad and a range of hot food which you helped yourself too. It was fresh, hot and set us up for the day!

This Travelodge is in the perfect position for exploring Bath, it is literally right on the waters edge by the canal lock. A gate at the back of the car park leads straight on to the path that leads to the centre of Bath, if you turn right. It is a lovely flat walk, the views across the water are stunning. The only thing is, there are lots of steps to climb up to reach the bridge that takes you into the centre. We found out on the last morning that if you turn left out of the gate you walk past the canal lock to the main road, turn right, then the next left takes you into the centre a different way. No steps, it is not as pretty, but it was much easier with the pushchair.

So if you are looking to visit Bath at Christmas for the Christmas Market and shopping, we highly recommend this Travelodge as a place to stay.

Have you stayed in Bath?

Didn’t know they had a Christmas market, and I’m a huge Christmas market fan. My favourite Christmas market is the Leeds German one, but I’ll definitely have to add Bath to my “to do market” list! :-)
