My family are everything to me.
My family is me, I am a two year old little boy. Plus my big bro who is 12, and my big sisters who are 15 and 18. And my mummy.
My mummy is the best mummy. She puts us before everything, and always before herself. She works so hard to look after us all. On her own.
My sisters are like my other mummys. My biggest one is away in Uni, and my other sister is another mummy to me at home.
My big bro is my best friend and my playmate. We have SO much fun together. Even though there is ten years between us.
I see my daddy sometimes, not that often really. I know who he is, but he does not live with us.
I also have my Nana and Grandad, who I see nearly every day. I love them very much.
I am lucky to have Granny Jane and Stuart – bestest friends of mummy, who are like my Granny and Grandad, and who love me very much. I LOVE seeing them, and going to their house to play
I also have my biggest sisters boyfriend Oz -he’s like a really coooool big bro, my cousin Matt and his girlfriend Hannah. At the top of my family is my only great-grandparent, my 94 year old Great Nana!
Mine is, I guess, a modern family.
I have a lot of love around me. I am SO loved.
Isn’t that what family means?
Matalan are running a Modern Families campaign, all about what a family is, and how it is has changed.
The new Matalan TV advert features real life families, have you seen it?
They conducted national research to explore how family life is changing. I agree with Matalan that modern family life is complicated. There are many different types of family now, but family is still just as important as it ever was.
It is just that families have changed. What is your Family Portrait?
Why not share it with everyone, over at Matalans website? Share on social media too using #MatalanModernFamilies and you could win £250 to spend in Matalan.
I have written this post for Mumsnet and #MatalanModernFamilies it is an entry to a competition, with no payment received.
